Things will really heat up in Drayton Valley as the community hosts the 9th annual "Thunder in the Valley Drag Race" on August 30, 31 and September 1, 2013!

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Drayton Valley, "Thunder in the Valley Drag Race" is a fundraiser for community projects.

The Thunder in the Valley Drag Race Organizing Committee wishes to recognize the North Peace Bracket Race Association (NPBRA) and its track crew for its tremendous support and assistance in hosting this event. They consistently go above and beyond in helping out with our Drag Races!

Mark your calendar for the long weekend in September and come to the Drayton Valley Municipal Airport to watch the action!

You will be guaranteed exciting action with this new drag race. What makes this race extra special is our feature ... Canada's only three jet cars, Rollin' Thunder, Northern F/X, and the HER-A-CANE! We also have a new attraction with the Wheelstander!

A great opportunity, not only for the thrill-seeker, but for those who like to watch thrill-seekers!

1. Racer gates open 12:00 Noon on Friday & 7 a m to 12
noon on Saturday. All registrations end at that time.
2. Friday Night Street Legal - If you run ONLY Friday night -
$30.00. Your vehicle will be teched for safety. You need
a valid Driver's License & a helmet (current IHRA specs).
3. No Friday night Fire up by the funny cars.
4. No one is running other than the Street vehicles on
Friday night.
5. New Parking process for participants - watch for the
signs.
6. Reminder: Fireworks will be on Saturday night.
7. NO MODIFIED DIESELS
8. If the organizers must cancel the race for any reason,
fees will be refunded (less 10% Administration Fee)
9. Thunder in the Valley will be paying out a $15,000 purse
based on 100 car count. Anyone who didn't get their
trophy and/or cheque will receive it in the mail.

In 2011, $16,077.94 was paid out by Thunder in the Valley!
